Team Assegai 3mm Ball-Drive Armor

This one's a bit weird.  Instead of wheels or tracks, Team Assegai uses spheres suspended in magnetic fields to propel their vehicles.  These spheres are covered with tiny "whiskers" made of pure carbon-fiber-mono-molecular-trilobal-reversed-polarity unobtanium, which work like the hairs on the legs of flies and spiders to give the Assegai vehicles both incredible traction -- even the ability to climb nearly-vertical surfaces! -- and the ability to move in any direction without changing facing.

Team Javelin 3mm GEV Armor Group

Team Javelin uses two different base hulls, one for direct-fire combat vehicles and one for combat support vehicles.  The Main Battle Tank and Self-Propelled Artillery Carrier both come in two versions:  one with a thin support rib under the main gun tube to prevent breakage, and one without.

Finally, some new(er) and creative(ish) content - 3mm Armor

Been a while, blog!  It's been a rough year, what with losing my job, losing my dog, and losing two good friends to cancer.  But at long last, I've started making some stuff again.

First up:  Team Seax, 3mm wheeled armor force!

Upcoming 3mm Releases

I've had most of these done for years, but was only recently galvanized to start uploading them.  On a side note, since CGTrader refuses to honor the notice and reply processes of the DMCA, no one's heard of MiniHoarder, and Shapeways has become almost openly hostile to its shop owners, I've started moving all my designs to Cults3D, which can be found here:  https://cults3d.com/en/users/javelin98/3d-models

Here are some of the 3mm-scale combat teams that will soon be available through Cults:

3mm Sci-Fi Aircraft

It's been a while since I updated the blog;  life has been incredibly busy, including my taking a new job and moving from Washington State to Honolulu, Hawaii.  I'm finally starting to be able to get around to doing more sculpting, so here is a look at my updated 3mm sci-fi air support assets.

I'm working on a few more variants, including these small one-man scout VTOLs:

3mm Sci-Fi: Team Gladius Refit

When I first started sculpting 3mm minis, it was with an eye towards making my own minis for Steve Jackson's OGRE.  My skills were rudimentary at best, and while I'm no master sculptor, my skills have improved pretty significantly since 2011.

I decided to take a little time to revise some of the minis I haven't shown any love since those days, starting with my wheeled Team Gladius force.  Below are some comparison shots of the old and new sculpts,  I'll soon be replacing the Gladius packs on Shapeways with these ones.
